It started way too early in the morning.\u00a0 It was day of all days.\u00a0 I rolled out of bed…it was a gloomy day so waking up was a challenge.\u00a0 I walked out of my room into a house that was not straightened up the night before.\u00a0 I proceeded to walk to the restroom where, lets be real, a week of use was showing its love.\u00a0 I then decided to get dressed and to my surprise, I had no clean underwear.\u00a0 I threw in the towel and the kids weren\u2019t even up yet.\u00a0 This was the day I QUIT.<\/p>\n

I had just read, a few days before, an open letter to the, \u201cMom who wanted to quit.\u201d\u00a0 It encouraged me to not quit and to push through.\u00a0 Well I took that to heart but God challenged me to look differently on that very subject.<\/p>\n

I was trying to do it all.\u00a0 I was no longer a mom\u2026.I was a maid.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t enjoying life anymore; our homeschool was lifeless.\u00a0 My cape was torn.\u00a0 So\u2026\u2026\u2026. I QUIT.\u00a0 I quit trying to be something I wasn\u2019t.\u00a0 God challenged me to look at my life again and be who he called me to be.<\/p>\n

I QUIT being a maid, and created a chore chart.\u00a0 One that included me so I would not kill myself doing it all.\u00a0 It helped me regain some freedom at night to snuggle with my kiddos before bed.<\/p>\n

I QUIT being unorganized.\u00a0 This one was tough to let go of!\u00a0 I am a freebird by nature.\u00a0 I love to just see what the day had to offer and ride the adventure.\u00a0 Then came the day I had no underwear!\u00a0 So as much as I hate to have a plan, it works!\u00a0 I plan my next week on Sunday night.\u00a0 I pick out my clothes the night before.\u00a0 I plan meals in advance.\u00a0 I realize life happens and it seems to happen a lot in our house!\u00a0 We just ride the adventure and keep to the routine\u2026.not schedule!\u00a0 I will post more about that later.<\/p>\n

I QUIT trying to do it on my own!\u00a0 Every feel that it doesn\u2019t matter what you do\u2026.you are never satisfied?\u00a0 Our God is a jealous God and he created the soul to need him.\u00a0 Only He can fill that emptiness.\u00a0 Only he can calm the storm within us.\u00a0 So, I started to trust him.\u00a0 To not trying to do it all.\u00a0 To start my day with him.\u00a0 To prepare in advance.\u00a0 To rely on him when things are getting hard.\u00a0 To start enjoying the hugs.\u00a0 To start asking for help.\u00a0 To be a mom again.\u00a0 To be the teacher God called me to be for my kids.\u00a0 To be the me\u2026..He called me to be.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
