First off, beloved readers please do not see this as a political post, but rather a “heart of the matter” post.\u00a0 After visiting FaceBook to day and seeing what the world thinks of our election last night, I would like to address a few of the things I saw.<\/p>\n

“What am I going to tell my kids in the morning?”<\/p>\n

“What will I tell my daughter?”<\/p>\n

“Life as we know it is over!”<\/p>\n

Let’s start with, “What am I going to tell my kids in the morning?”\u00a0 First, radical thought…The Truth?!?!\u00a0 Take this time to explain.\u00a0 Take your feelings out of this picture.\u00a0 Right now, most kiddos get their opinions by what their parents believe.\u00a0 You have the power to help shape the way they react to big things.\u00a0 Think about what is important to them right now.\u00a0 Maybe it is toddler who is mad because they were given milk and not juice, or maybe a teenager who got a bad grade on a test or, better yet, your daughter just broke up with their boyfriend.\u00a0 We are teaching them it is ok to walk out on school.\u00a0 Disrespect authority because\u00a0they do not see it the way they do. \u00a0Or to set houses on fire…all because we have shown them this is what we do as adults when things get hard or we disagree.\u00a0 Take this time and show them how to react to by showing them grace, respect, and kindness.\u00a0 This could shape how they deal with “their” big things.<\/p>\n

“What will I tell my daughter?”\u00a0 Um, I am not really sure how to even answer this one?\u00a0 A man was elected as our 45th President last night?!?!\u00a0 Do they need to know the details?\u00a0Just because it is on\u00a0the internet or your good friend posted it,\u00a0isn’t always\u00a0truth.\u00a0 Whether we disagree or not, teach them how to respect authority even if that authority has made poor choices in their past.\u00a0 You do not have to like him as a person but we\u00a0are called to respect our authority!\u00a0Maybe show them how to start to pray for the heart of our new team, pray for\u00a0guidance and wisdom, and for God to intervene for them.<\/p>\n

“Life as we know it is over.”\u00a0 Really?\u00a0 We put all the faith into a man?\u00a0 Do you think he has enough power to destroy YOUR life?\u00a0 Trump is NOT the problem here if you accept this!\u00a0 This is a full-on heart issue.\u00a0 I am guessing that if we really believe our life is really over, it didn’t matter who was placed into office.\u00a0 Remember who your hope is found in.<\/p>\n

There were many more heated questions.\u00a0 There were a lot of f-bombs I care to read in a lifetime.\u00a0 I really think we need to do a heart check at this point.\u00a0 Watch your actions and words, regardless of sides, little eyes are watching you.\u00a0 You gloat, you teach your kids to be sore losers.\u00a0 You act out in anger, you are teaching your kiddos how to respond in anger.\u00a0You get on your knees, you will teach your kiddos how to be powerful leaders.\u00a0How about we not place labels on our kids they do not deserve!\u00a0 Don’t tell them how the world sees them, tell them how God sees them!\u00a0 Don’t play the victim card.\u00a0 We need to get back on our knees and pray for President Elect Trump and his staff.\u00a0 If we turned all the negativity energy\u00a0on social media into prayer, think of how powerful that would be!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
